Lichen on rock - Swedish Lapland
Lichens are not a plant actually, moreover a composite organism consisting of a fungus living in a symbiotic partnership with a photosynthetic partner, usually a green alga, or a cyanobacterium. Lychens occur in some of the most extreme environments on Earth - arctic tundra, hot deserts, rocky coasts, and toxic slag heaps.
